Yes. Portuguese banks grant mortgages to non-residents, although under slightly different conditions: maximum financing is generally 70% to 80% of the property value, and proof of regular income in the country of origin is required.
Being a tax resident in Portugal simplifies the process but is not mandatory to start the application.

In addition to the purchase price, buyers should consider costs such as Property Transfer Tax (IMT), Stamp Duty, notary and registration fees, and, where applicable, mortgage-related expenses.
The total amount will depend on the property’s value and financing structure.
